Emmanuel House, God is-with-us, names the mystery of gospel life central to the charism of Francis and Clare. It also names the purpose of this House of Prayer — to share the contemplative silence and solitude that are our riches as Poor Clares. This ecumenical retreat house is located on our monastery property. It has four guest rooms, a small chapel with the Blessed Sacrament, a completely furnished kitchen, a small conference room and a porch. Renovated though the kindness of our benefactors, it is now air-conditioned.

Emmanuel House enables us to share the good things of our God in our own city of Greenville as well as to welcome guests from other parts of our country and the world.

Retreatants experience that “God is with us” as they have the opportunity to:

● Attend Eucharist and Liturgy of the Hours with the Poor Clare community.
● Spend time in personal prayer and reflection.

● Experience the support of the prayers of the Poor Clare nuns.
● Celebrate the wonder of Creation in woods that adjoin the monastery or drive to Paris Mountain State Park with hiking trails, lakes and waterfalls.
